Ap Specialist

CMS Group is currently looking to hire an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join the finance & accounting team. Reporting into the Financial Controller and working within a team of 4, you will be responsible for the following duties inclusive but not limited to the following.
- Work closely with Financial Controller to provide updates on AP progress on a regular basis.
- Strengthen and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers through timely payments ensure all payables are entered in a timely manner.
- Use Jonas accounting software to ensure both project and service invoicing is accurately entered and documented,
- Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable process utilizing Jonas software on a daily basis
- Process, verify, and reconcile invoices
- Review invoices and support documents prior to payment
- Perform invoice and general ledger data entry
- Ensure the accuracy of financial documents for payment, auditing and tax purposes
- Verify and register new vendors and perform due diligence on their bank details
- Monitor supplier accounts effectively to ensure payments are made in a timely manner
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors
- Assist senior management on ad-hoc reports as required
- Perform monthly vendor statement reconciliations, ensuring all vendor invoices have been received and entered into the accounting system in a timely manner

In order to qualify for the position you must possess the following skill sets
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a concentrated Accounts Payable role within a construction \ project driven environment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a customer portfolio of over 100 accounts and ability to process a high amount of invoices and process high volume of data entry
- Jonas experience (considered an asset

- Advanced Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel)
- Attention to detail and team-oriented attitude
