As an IT Helpdesk Security Specialist, you will be at the forefront of our organization's cyber defence, providing vital support to our users and maintaining the integrity of our information systems. Your role involves a blend of technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of cybersecurity best practices. You will be responsible for responding to all IT requests with a focus on Security-related incidents, providing timely solutions, and educating users on security protocols to minimize risks and protect our organization's digital assets.

Responsibilities and Duties:
**Incident Response**: Serve as the first point of contact for IT incidents, including identification, diagnosis, and initiation of response actions to mitigate threats.

**User Support and Training**: Provide support to users on security-related queries and issues. Develop and conduct regular cybersecurity awareness training sessions for staff to ensure they are familiar with security policies and best practices.

**Vulnerability Management**: Assist in implementing vulnerability scans, analyzing results, and participating in remediation.

**Security Monitoring**: Monitor system logs and security tools for unusual or suspicious activities. Implement and manage security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and information.

**Policy and Compliance**: Help in the development, implementation, and enforcement of IT security policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to information security.

**Documentation**: Maintain detailed reports of all security incidents and the measures taken to resolve them. Document solutions to common security problems and regularly update the IT knowledge base.

**Collaboration**: Work closely with other relevant stakeholders to improve overall security posture. Participate in security projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications:

- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT helpdesk/support role with a strong focus on security.
- Proficient understanding of cybersecurity principles, IT systems, and networking technologies.
- Experience with security software, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical users.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or SANS GIAC) are a benefit.

Working Conditions:

- This full-time position may require availability outside of standard working hours, including evenings and weekends, to address urgent security incidents or complete critical updates.
- The role involves working onsite & travelling, but ordinary day-to-day will be remote, requires a stable internet connection and the ability to use remote support tools effectively.
