**Account and Business Development Manager**

**Scope for the position**:
Reporting to the Specialty Channel Sales Manager, the New Business Development Manager is responsible for the development of the Company’s business within assigned Account and the proactive development of new customers to meet and exceed sales targets and objectives. This position has a large focus on new business acquisition, bringing new strategic top key customers. This position creates strategic plans for top accounts and ensures that they are executed, tracked.

**Basic function of the position**:
The responsibilities of this role include a strong focus on customer relationship management, contract negotiation, strategic business development and marketing planning along with data analysis to determine and ensure targets are met. The New Business Development Sales Manager will foster a team selling environment engaging regularly with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Creates strategic plan that can be clearly measured and executed for all accounts assigned, as well as plans for new accounts. Also refines programs to maximize growth for assigned accounts. This position owns the entire sales cycle
- Measured focus on new business and customer development activities
- Expand relationships with existing customers. Prepare and present customer focused presentations that highlight opportunities and action plans for customers’ business.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships within assigned accounts and customers. Stay up to date with the customer strategy / operating cycles and provide excellent value and service as a partner
- Effectively negotiates with customers to achieve mutual business objectives
- Facilitate meetings and hold cross functional teams accountable for task completion
- Using strong communication skills to provide accurate and detailed information to key stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Maintains all projects and presentations and monitors to ensure times are being met by all stakeholders.
- Develops strong product knowledge: marketing positioning, value and considers target consumer for customers’ brands/products
- Maintain competitive and industry knowledge base of product and service offerings and provide strategic recommendations
- Attends customer events, industry events, trade shows, etc.
- Monitors and communicates customer business plans results for assigned accounts as needed/requested
- Effectively forecast customers’ period sales and outline key drivers/opportunities and risks
- Be a leader, foster teamwork within the organization
- Develop, lead and be proactive in building yearly targets
- Complete and analyze sales and inventory reports as required
- Complete supportive duties such as deal sheets, price files, tracking reports, deductions, credits and returns as applicable
- Responsible for any other administrative duties as required
- Stay within assigned budget for any and all Customer budgets as well as business travel and expenses
- Work on special projects and other duties/responsibilities as assigned

**Required**:

- Post-secondary education in Business, marketing or relevant discipline, or equivalent market experience
- Min 2 Years’ Experience with commodity selling and categories
- Minimum of 3 years key account management experience
- Must be bilingual in French and English
- 3 years of Consumer Package Goods (CPG) Industry experience would be an asset
- Ability to manage projects involving cross functional teams
- Superior communication and presentation skills
- Must own a reliable vehicle with valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
- Must have a valid passport as some travel in the USA may be required
- A good understanding of the Organic Industry is an asset
- A valid driver’s license and in possession of own vehicle
- Must be available for conferences and tradeshows (min 5 per year)
- **_Please be advised that this role will require frequent travel throughout Quebec and some travel to other provinces._**:

- **_Time would be spent as required between the Genesis office and in-field_**
