Vela is hiring for our Bar Server role The Bar Server/Junior Bartender that we call "Pitboss" is responsible for serving guests seated the bar, as well as supporting the bar team throughout service. Bar experience is an asset, but we are happy to train those who are eager to expand their skills and knowledge. $16/hr plus tips ($16-23 per hr avg) 1-2yrs serving/barback experience preferred, but not required, Vela welcomes all with a desire to learn and grow. Physical Requirements Employee will be required to: Carry trays of drinks, food, and anything a guest may need, lift things like; wine boxes, ice buckets, garbage bags, or other supplies, etc., up to 20lbs (or more if you’re comfortable), lift things up into bulkhead with a spotter. Motion Parameters Employee will be required to: Be on their feet for the majority of their shift, move gracefully through the room, carrying plates and trays, climbing stairs, and potentially squatting/kneeling. Perform all tasks required to maintain the level of technical skill accustomed at VELA for your particular shift.
