**Your New Role:
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, Operation, the Project Scheduler works with the project team ensuring that the project schedule is developed using the company’s standard schedule breakdown structure, implementing, updating, and maintaining the project schedule. The Project Scheduler will effectively and efficiently communicate any deviations from the schedule and work cohesively with the pursuit and project teams to strategize and implement alternatives to meet the contractual obligations.
**Specific Duties and Responsibilities**
While the Project Scheduler is responsible for a multitude of duties, the main functions include:
- Develops and maintains strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
- Supports the project team to help plan, coordinate and prepare the master project and planning schedules.
- Works closely with Superintendents and the Project Teams to create, monitor update schedules, track milestones, create reports, and advise on construction logistics and sequencing.
- Aids in the review, creation and strategize of the project schedule and 6 week look ahead with field staff for weekly sub-trade meetings and construction meetings.
- Contributes with site walk throughs to audit the short-and long-term plans. Collaborates with project teams on each job site and in the office to validate the schedule.
- Assists with the identification and communication of schedule delays, impacts and variance to the baseline schedule.
- Supports in the schedule risk analysis, schedule contingency determination and potential corrective actions and solutions.
- Understand principles of cost estimating and productivity in establishing schedule parameters (duration, cost, resource loading, etc.).
- Assist jobsite teams in facilitating interactive planning and scheduling workshops where two
- and six-week schedules are developed.
**Safety**
- Adheres to all safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
- Communicates and enforces safety standards in conjunction with the Construction Health & Safety Officer.
**Quality**
- Adheres to all processes and procedure in the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensures the quality of product produced reflects the QMS and The Sullivan values.
**What you will need to succeed**
- Post-secondary education in Engineering or CET diploma.
- 1-2 years’ site experience in the construction industry.
- 2+ years full-time scheduling experience is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Project or Primavera scheduling software (P6) is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Project) is an asset.
- Obtained or working towards PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) is an asset.
**Your skills**
- Read, review and have a basic understanding of contract documents, construction terms and processes.
- Excellent time management skills while working under mínimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a large collaborative team environment.
- Able to schedule resources and provide manpower forecasts.
- Knowledge of the use of modern planning and scheduling principles, methodologies, techniques and tools.
- Able to negotiate sub-trade task and work package duration.
- In-depth knowledge of building and sitework construction and project management principles.
