The College is home to four Faculties—_Alberta School of Business_, _Arts_, _Education_, and _Law_—and includes a community of 490 faculty members, 232 academic teaching staff, 518 support staff, and more than 15,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), the College Dean and Vice-Provost is responsible for leadership of the College, leading the development of a collective vision and strategic directions for the College as well as fostering interdisciplinary scholarship and academic programming within the College, across colleges, and the University. The College Dean and Vice-Provost is accountable for the academic mission and academic performance of the College and its Faculties. The College Dean and Vice-Provost serves as Chair of the College Council of Deans, sits on Deans’ Council and General Faculties Council, and is a senior administrator of the University. The College Dean and Vice-Provost, in consultation with the Provost and the College Council of Deans, cultivates a respectful and inclusive environment in which College and University-level collaborations thrive.

As College Dean and Vice-Provost, you will have at a minimum, a Doctorate or equivalent in a field represented within one of the College’s four Faculties and possess qualifications that commensurate with an appointment with tenure at the rank of Professor. In addition, you are a distinguished scholar who has maintained an active program of scholarly enquiry while holding a senior-level administrative position within an academic environment. You will also demonstrate leadership experience with an emphasis on collegiality, collaboration and openness with demonstrated ability to act decisively and to foster strong relations and a culture of cooperation and respect among teams, staff, students, and wider community.
