Within the framework of the Youth Addiction Programs, the Intensive Treatment Team Lead is responsible for duties required to ensure the youth residential unit at the Sister Margaret Smith Centre operates effectively. It is the role of the Team Lead to: maintain and enforce the daily schedule, ensure adequate resources are available, provide orientation and instruction to youth workers, correspond with the Nurse Practitioner to ensure medical needs of clients are met, monitor and initiate financial requisitions, oversee the admission/discharge of clients to the units, provide a safe space for the clients, and act as a liaison between the multidisciplinary team.

This role may also include the support to other programs and groups within the Sister Margaret Smith Centre. Some evening and weekend work is expected.

Applicants must have a minimum of a two year Diploma in a Human Service Program from an accredited college and a minimum of one year working in an Intake related position with clients experiencing substance abuse and/or mental health problems. Additional requirements include direct experience in dealing with the public in an entry capacity, working knowledge of addiction issues and community partners, crisis management skills, word processing and experience with database programs, in particular Catalyst, well-developed oral and written communication skills, and excellent time management and organization. The ability to work both independently as well as on a multi-disciplinary team is essential.
