Auto Body Technician

**Role Summary**
Reporting to the Shop Foreman, the Auto Body Technician will be responsible for conducting body work on heavy equipment., trucks, and trailers. Based out of our New Haven Shop, this role will perform various tasks including sandblasting, general body work, priming and painting.

**What You’ll Do**
- Determine vehicle repair and/or restoration requirements.
- Dismantle and repair vehicles.
- Remove badly damaged sections of vehicles (for example, roof, rear body panels) and attach new sections.
- Repair damage to body panels and components made of a variety of materials.
- Repair or replace interior and exterior components such as instrument panels, seat frame assemblies, carpets and floorboard insulation, trim panels, and mouldings.
- Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting.
- Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers.
- Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills and bolt parts into place.
- Repair or replace interior components.
- Repair or replace damaged windows, windshields, and sunroofs.
- Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling.
- Mix paint, blend, and match colors.
- Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams.
- Maintain tools and shop cleanliness daily according to company standards.
- Adhere and support all safety requirements and quality standards set forth in the PEI Occupational Health and Safety General Regulations, PEI Occupational Health and Safety Act and Island Coastal’s Safety Management System.
- Use your experience to identify health and safety deficiencies and support Management in implementing solutions OR report to Management when required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

**What You Bring**
- 2+ years auto body repair experience.
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to handle a physically demanding role.
- Valid drivers license and own transportation.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 - 55 per week

**Experience**:
