8/9-week Summer Contract (30 hours)

The Events Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Community Programs Manager and will be responsible for assisting in coordinating webinars, workshops, and training sessions and managing all events-related activities for NZF including strategizing, planning, and attending events.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Make calls to stakeholders and set up meetings
- Manage events calendar
- Coordinate with different departments within the company regarding events
- Organization of company-wide virtual events
- Liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event planning process to ensure everything is in order
- Planning event logistics for different cities
- Evaluating events through guest feedback and making proper changes
- Assess an event’s overall success and submit findings
- Keep CRM updated with new information
- Attend networking sessions/events with MSAs, Masjids, and other stakeholders
- Other ad hoc tasks related to outreach, networking, and development

**Education/Qualification**:

- Bachelor’s degree in event planning, project management, or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a marketing role
- Fundamental knowledge of Zakat
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the Muslim charity/not-for-profit sector

**Eligibility**:

- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_ for the duration of the employment**; and,
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- As per section 13.1(a) of the Articles of Agreement, youth hired for a Canada Summer Jobs-funded job cannot displace or replace existing employees or volunteers, employees that have been laid off and are awaiting recall, employees absent due to an industrial dispute, employees on vacation, or employees on maternity or parental leave
