**Main functions**:
Working out of the Barriere Yard, the Class 1 Truck Driver travels to different jobsites to work towards the completion of installing or removal of modular unit(s) under the direction of their supervisor. While also maintaining a clean and safe work environment and truck.

The Class 1 Truck Driver performs the following duties:

- Operate and drive primarily tractor-trailer with a variety of different trailers to transport modular buildings over local routes, short interurban routes, and long distances within BC.
- Manage all loads safely and securely on truck deck for hauling of modular buildings, including throwing the straps over the building to secure.
- Must complete pre-trip, and post-trip inspections using Samsara.
- Delivery or removal of multiple loads daily.
- Report defects, accidents and/or violations.
- Ensure regulated and proper personal protective equipment.
- Work with Installation crew to ensure the delivery or removal of modular buildings.
- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle in working order, clear of waste.
- Inspect vehicle(s) for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Perform other activities as directed by superiors.

**Working Conditions**:

- Work weeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday
- 3-month probation period.
- Ability to sit and drive long hours.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (i.e. traffic, weather conditions etc.)
- Occasionally will need to work on the weekend but will receive a weekday off in lieu of.
- Work in a variety of locations in weather conditions.

**Employment Requirements**:

- Punctual, meticulous, organized, and reliable.
- Must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Legislation including _The Workers Compensation Act _and the _BC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation_
- Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team.
- Capable of physical, manual labour.
- Positive attitude and work ethic.
- Courteous manners with the public, staff, and management.
- Valid Class 1 Drivers License.
- Clean Driver’s abstract.
- Valid WHMIS 2015 certification.
