**Role Overview**
SMLS is seeking a full-time Alumnae & Community Engagement Officer to join our Advancement team. You’ll be reporting to the Executive Director, Advancement & Community Relations and be responsible for creating, building and strengthening our Alumnae Relations program to engage and foster continuing relationships with our alumnae. Serving as a School Ambassador, you will support the alumnae association in building its scope and programming to promote continuing alumnae engagement.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Managing and executing the alumnae relations programs for graduates of the School
- Developing a clear strategy for alumnae engagement that aligns with the School’s strategic plan in collaboration with SMLS colleagues and volunteer committees
- Planning and executing alumnae events, in person and virtual (e.g. homecoming, reunions, Founders’ Day, alumnae luncheon, grad breakfast, speaker events, recreational and social events) and event budget management
- Growing the alumnae directory database, and developing a mechanism for alumnae to connect and communicate
- Collaborating with the Director, The Annual Fund to solicit donations from alumnae and assist with the execution of the graduating class gift programs to achieve fundraising targets
- Creating new opportunities to engage alumnae in meaningful and rewarding ways that deepen their commitment to the School
- Assists with the promotion and implementation of the Outstanding Alumnae Award
- Developing outreach programs to engage alumnae in ongoing academic activities of the School (e.g. co
- op and mentorship programs to link alumnae with current students)
- Providing strategic support to the alumnae association to help them create and build new connections to alumnae (e.g. identifying possible class representatives, notable alumnae for mentoring and speaking engagements, suggesting alumnae chapters, etc.)
- Working with the Executive Director, Advancement & Community Relations to create systems and roles to ensure a quality volunteer experience for Alumnae Association members, the Alumnae Association Executive committee and other alumnae volunteers
- Providing expertise and support to the Executive Director, Advancement & Community Relations, Alumnae Association Executive Committee, Advancement Committee, Board of Directors and Faculty in related alumnae and advancement activities and campaigns
- Collaborating with the Head of Schools, Assistant Head of Schools, the University Guidance Counsellor and various student associations and councils to strengthen the engagement and commitment of future alumnae
- Support the development and growth of a culture of philanthropy within the SMLS alumnae community
- Experience optimizing the use of technology to engage alumnae by managing the online resources and social networking platforms and communities for alumnae. Collaborate with the Head of Marketing and Communications to maintain/manage Alumnae Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts

**Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience**
- Post-Secondary graduation in a relevant program (e.g. fundraising, marketing, communications, etc.) with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in alumnae affairs, including experience with the administration of an alumnae program, and a background that includes event planning, fundraising, and/or communications
