**Job Summary**:
**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Material preparation - masking, blowing, sanding and preparing components.
- Painting - selecting and mixing paints, operating painting equipment including pumps and guns.
- Abrasive blasting - occasionally operating abrasive blasting equipment to prepare components for paint.
- Read equipment assembly specifications, such as charts, schematics, blueprints, and typed instructions and details.
- Brings technical problems encountered to the Lead Hand’s attention for resolution throughout the project.
- Participate in regular shop/yard organization and cleanliness exercises.
- Train new employees in paint / preparation operations as required.
- Complete and maintain various records and documentation.
- Demonstrate the capability to work independently or in a team on complex and multiple projects requiring judgment to resolve problems.
- Familiarize yourself with operation controls such as safe working practices and job hazard analysis as appropriate to specific work tasks.
- Responsible to follow all applicable company and corporate policies, guiding principles, procedures and programs; including but not limited to the process map, support processes, health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Assist with shop maintenance requirements.
- Responsible to supply your own tools; a minimum recommendation list is available. The company will lend some atypical tools for temporary use; these are available for sign out through the tool crib service. Further information is available.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Painter / Prepper Applicable Concentrations**:

- Autobody Technician
- Other applicable certified designations

**Qualifications Requirements**:

- High School Diploma or GED an asset
- Must have experience or demonstrate equivalent knowledge of industrial painting processes
- Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and departments
- 1-2 years’ experience.

**HSE Requirements**:

- Shop environment, warehouse and working indoors/outdoors. Possibility to be exposed to dust, fumes, or gases and changes of temperature/humidity
- Possible physical requirements: squatting, bending, lifting, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, reaching, twisting, crawling, climbing, ladder work, and working near moving equipment
- First Aid, forklift, overhead crane training is beneficial to this role
- Required to wear steel toe boots, safety glasses or side shields, hard hat, and ear protection. Task pending face shield and/or ventilation mask required.
