Current Opportunity:

- work with ground personnel in the excavation and installation process of laying pipe on line and grade.
- ensure trenches are excavated to the proper depth and grade.
- follow directions of ground crew regarding craning, gravel placement and grading.
- cut grade efficiently with mínimal time spent on excavating to ensure production is on schedule.
- conduct trench work, which meets OH&S requirements.
- safe and efficient operation of the backhoe to perform duties as assigned to ensure work completed is delivered according to contract specifications.
- performing daily pre-operational inspection of equipment, maintaining, inspecting, setting up, adjusting, and utilizing equipment or machinery to ensure proper and safe functioning.
- identifying defective parts on malfunctioning equipment and following proper safety guidelines and procedures, reporting any potentially unsafe practices.
- work in collaboration with the foreman, site supervisors, and health and safety department to investigate damage, incidents or near misses on the worksite, and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the TACC Construction Ltd.’s Health and Safety Program.
- reviewing a daily schedule and following specific instructions for excavating.
- focusing on attention to safety, communication, stamina, accuracy, teamwork, and time management.

Qualifications:

- Must haves:_
- Thorough knowledge and experience operating a 390 excavator
- Experience in sewer or watermain projects
- Be able to accurately judge distance and slopes
- Good health and physical condition
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Works well independently and collaboratively on small or large-scale projects
- Is reliable, responsible, and trustworthy
- Good to have:_
- In-depth knowledge and practice of OSHA safety standards and precautions

Education Requirement:

- High School Diploma or equivalent
