**Salary Range**:Level 3 ($63,000 - $75,000)
**Position Description**:
The General Manager reports to the Vice President, Health Fitness and Aquatics and provides senior strategic and day-to-day leadership to the Hamilton Downtown 174 bed Men's Residence Operation. This includes resident agreements, staff training, partnerships and exploration of new models of delivery. This role will ensure high quality, safe service for residents and support stakeholder engagement. This role will support operational excellence aligned to the new strategic plan. A strong background in housing, social services and the continuum of housing is required. Excellent excellent communication skills and community engagement.
**In this position, you will**:
- Thorough the residence team and contracted support services, drive operational excellence through program and service delivery supported by annual plans.
- Operational oversight to men's 174 room residence, congregate living facility that supports at risk, marginalized individuals with complex needs including mental health, chronic illness, and substance use disorders.
- Analyzing accounting and financial data, researching and identifying opportunities, generating reports and giving presentations.
- Highly organized with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with the ability to both push information out and listen to gather information and formulate plans.
- Exhibits strong problem-solving skills balancing long term planning with immediate situations. Makes data informed decisions and ensures collection of good monthly KPI’s
- Relationship building, coaching, employee engagement strategies for staff team included de
- escalation techniques.
- Work collaboratively with partners to explore new models of wrap around support and life skills support.
- Accountable for achieving operational goals through financial management of the branch including both operational and capital budgets.
- Responsible to ensure all legislative requirements adhered to and oversight to all tenancy agreements.
- Development and management of the branch operating plans to ensure quality assurance, service excellence and safety.
- Develop, implement and monitor appropriate policies and procedures related to the management of the residence.
- Ensure familiarity with applicable legislation to safeguard the respectful and fair treatment of staff, residents, and security.
- Provide overall branch leadership; responsible for the development/implementation of operational plans while respecting executive limitations of the role.
- Growth mindset to see and seize new revenue opportunities and expand services for youth, seniors, and other key demographics.
- Community engagement and relationship building participating in community committees representing congregate settings.
- Work in collaboration with the General Manager of Hamilton Downtown HFA Operations to serve the Hamilton Downtown community.
- Support all capital and asset management initiatives.
**You bring**:
- Post secondary degree in Social Work, Business, or a related field
- 3-5 years experience in a mid-management position in a results oriented role overseeing housing or social services
- YMCA experience is preferred but related work considered
- Skills in Human Resources Management, supportive housing, financial management, and Mental Health First Aid
- Computer proficiency in MS Office using Word and Excel
- Must provide a current Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check as per the Association’s policy Association’s policy
