Addiction Supportive Housing Program, as an Intensive Case Manager

The ASH program, is a community-based program, sponsored by MacKay Manor Inc. The ICM works with individuals who are seeking assistance in obtaining and maintaining appropriate housing. The ability to interact with staff, clients and referral sources in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. The ideal individual has the capacity to work well under tight timelines while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient. This person must be exceptionally well organized, flexible and enjoy the challenges of supporting the clients we serve.

**Service Responsibilities**:
Remain current with new policies, training, services, and resources applicable to the mental health and addictions community.
Promote the principles of diversity and equity in all work-related duties, whenever applicable

**Main Duties & Responsibilities**:
Screening/Assessment/Treatment planning

Individual and group counselling skills

**Skills and Qualifications**:
Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a human services field from an accredited college or university

Clinical certification as an addiction counsellor (CACCF) or working towards

Ability to communicate in an effective, polished, and timely manner
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities
Training or experience working with a population who have experienced trauma or adverse life events is preferred.

Valid first aid/CPR and ASSIST training

Valid driver’s license, consistent use of reliable transportation and appropriate operator’s insurance

French verbal and written ability is an asset
A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector clearance

**Working Conditions**:
Work environment is community based.

May be exposed to infectious and communicable diseases; working with individuals who have a history of trauma and being aggressive

Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.

Moderate physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, moving items, etc.

Salary range: 24.00 - 28.00/hr

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
