Dental Assistant

**Overview**
**Responsibilities**
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by preparing instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during various treatments, including orthodontics and pediatrics.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Sterilize instruments and manage infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow in coordination with the dental receptionist.
- Handle administrative tasks as needed, including managing medical terminology related to patient care.
**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, particularly in orthodontics or pediatrics.
- Proficiency in using dental software such as Adstra is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent training is preferred.
