Reporting to the Lead, Donor Impact, the **Associate, Donor Impact**, will be responsible for supporting the needs of our comprehensive stewardship program (involving gift acknowledgement, donor recognition, and donor accountability), with the goal of sustaining and deepening the interest of Albertans and their support for the mission of the Alberta Cancer Foundation. This role will work cross-departmentally to increase revenue, enhance donor relationships and ensure long-term growth and stability. The Associate, Donor Impact will balance their time contributing to the stewardship program through meaningful and targeted acknowledgement, recognition and accountability.
A typical day might include:
- Ensuring donors receive timely and meaningful acknowledgement of their gift including the provision of an official receipt (tax or general), and in accordance with the Gift Acceptance Policy by:
- crafting thank you letters to donors and external stakeholders
- monitoring CRM database for major gift donor activity
- coordinating bi-annual donor thank-a-thons
- coordinating the production and mailout of the annual donor anniversary acknowledgement cards
- segmentation and coordination of holiday season cards
- Ensuring donors receives public recognition in an appropriate and equitable manner, and that we respect the right of any donor who requests to not be publicly recognized by assisting the Lead, Donor Impact with:
- production and installation of donor recognition
- updating the six donor walls across the province on an annual basis
- coordinating and preparing submissions for external donor and staff recognition awards
- Ensuring donors receives regular, timely, appropriate, and transparent accountability for their gift in accordance with established processes, and in consultation with Philanthropy. Work with the Lead, Donor Impact to ensure effective reporting that meets the needs of donors with respect to transparency around our operations and the impact and effectiveness of their donations by:
- coordinating the standard recognition processes as outlined in the ‘Donor Impact Recognition Standards & Options’ guidelines
- crafting customized letters for major gift donors and external stakeholders for endowments and studentships
- assisting the Lead, Donor Impact with personalized donor impact reports and recognition planning, segmentation and distribution of the annual Report to the Community
Your Qualifications:
- A post-secondary education in a relevant discipline and/or combination of education, experience and training acceptable to the Foundation
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a charitable organization or non-profit organization (relevant experience may be considered)
- Experience in the management of internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Understanding and experience of donor database management systems (Raiser's Edge/Salesforce)
- Ability to work independently with exceptional time management skills and strong attention to detail
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on storytelling
- Previous experience in health care philanthropy is an asset
