Calgary, Canada North Coast Excavation and Trucking Ltd Full time

As a Heavy Equipment Operator at North Coast Excavation and Trucking Ltd., you will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery to assist in our construction projects. Your role will involve working on different terrains and in various weather conditions to execute tasks such as excavation, trenching, grading, backfilling, etc. You will collaborate closely with site supervisors, project managers, and other crew members to ensure the safe and efficient completion of projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, and loaders.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure machinery is in safe working condition.
- Execute excavation, grading, trenching, and backfilling tasks according to project specifications and safety standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and other construction documents.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other crew members to coordinate tasks and ensure project timelines are met.
- Adhere to safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or project delays to the supervisor.
- Assist in manual labor tasks as needed, including site preparation and clean-up.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience operating heavy equipment in the construction industry.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction documents.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Certifications in equipment operation (e.g., OSHA, NCCER) are preferred but not required.
