**Alternative Landscaping Ltd.** is a local, family-run company that has been creating award-winning outdoor landscapes for more than two decades. We complete commercial and residential projects in landscaping, excavation, and maintenance and operate a year-round garden centre that services southwestern Manitoba. **Field Maintenance Manager**
The Field Maintenance Manager is responsible for the Total Yardcare Crews as well as performing grounds maintenance tasks. The Manager ensures the work is completed to the expected standards and that all crew members are operating safety and efficiently.
**About the job**:
- Manage the work of the Total Yardcare team including coordinating and directing work activities, ensuring equipment and supplies, influencing positive attitudes and behaviours within team, and ensuring efficiencies with all resources
- Establish, Maintain and Train processes and procedures and ensure they are being followed at all times.
- Promote, provide, and maintain excellent customer service, responding effectively to customer concerns to achieve customer satisfaction
- Ensure effective communications with Maintenance Account Manager, including accurate and timely filed reports and records
- Performing yardcare tasks and coaching team members in same
- Maintain a safe working environment and enforce all safety standard, protocols, and regulations. Investigates any accident or safety violations and implements solutions.
- Hire, fire, train, develop, and discipline high performing work teams; grows, nurtures, and develops personnel to reach goals benefiting both Alternative growth and individual growth of team members. Identify and develop crew leaders.
**About you**:
- Sufficient experience in residential or commercial grounds maintenance as well as leadership roles to demonstrate position requirements
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to take and follow direction and act on tasks required in an efficient manner
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
- Ability to read and interpret product specifications
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various construction practices
- Ability to maintain records with a smart phone and industry software
- Valid driver’s license is **mandatory**
**Work Conditions**:
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
- Ability to work in all kinds of winter and summer weather conditions
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Requires good manual dexterity
- Excellent stamina is required
- Work near mowing equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
- Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
- Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work
