**VISION**:
At the Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA), we celebrate and honour the safety and healing of Indigenous Women and Girls as they take up their leadership roles in the family, community, provincially, nationally and internationally for generations to come.
**SCOPE**:
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the **Finance Manager** will manage the day-to-day financial operations of the Ontario Native Women’s Association and ensure timely production of reports for management and governance. They will lead and manage a team to ensure the financial planning function across the organization, meeting the highest level of customer service. This role partners heavily with cross functional leaders, including the Director of Finance, to develop business strategies to achieve both near and long-term goals.
The Finance Manager will lead financial analysis and is accountable for ensuring integrity within core processes while mitigating risk to the organization. They will ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative standards and plan for continuous improvement and efficiency. The Finance Manager will be responsible for providing support and analytics to the Director of Finance to ensure the attainment of strategic goals, risk management and key business plans for the Ontario Native Women’s Association.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- **SKILLS**:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field
- Ability to prepare financial statements and monitor performance against department plans and budgets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills including demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff.
- Proven ability to build trusting relationships at all levels and across all areas in the agency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), databases, and data analysis tools.
- Valid Ontario “G” driver’s license, reliable vehicle and appropriate insurance.
- **KNOWLEDGE**:
- Knowledge of Indigenous Culture, Traditions, and Indigenous Community
- Understanding of Indigenous communities in Ontario, including the cultural, social, and historical contexts affecting Indigenous women.
- Knowledge of Ontario not-for-profit Governance, Board and Bylaws and relevant legislation.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience working within a not-for-profit sector, preferably within an Indigenous organization.
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP, provincial, federal legislation, and not-for-profit governance.
- Expert knowledge of the Province of Ontario Not for Profit Corporations Act, as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for Not-for-Profits, and Charities
- Experience with cloud-based enterprise management and accounting software.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to internal and external partners.
- Experience in supporting strategic planning and development of multi-year work plans.
- Fluency in written and spoken English. The ability to speak an Indigenous Language is considered an asset.

- Must be willing and able to work within a flexible hybrid (remote/in-office) model based on operational needs and will be determined by ONWA.

**The full salary range for this role is $87,000 - $107,574 ONWA conducts annual performance reviews, and employees may be eligible for salary adjustments based on performance outcomes and available funding.**
