**Position Summary**

Working within the Experiential and Professional Education (EPE) portfolio in the Office of the Dean of Engineering, the Professional Development Coordinator (PDC) works with students, staff, faculty, industry partners, and professional organizations to support, promote, and deliver a wide range of professional development opportunities for a diverse population of undergraduate students in the Faculty of Engineering.

These opportunities include, but are not limited to, mentorship, technical and non-technical skills workshops, presentations, guest speakers, opportunities for students to develop interpersonal and communication skills (i.e., leadership, public speaking, etc.), and engagements with professional organizations and campus chapters. The PDC will also serve as a vital support for emerging PD initiatives within the EPE portfolio, such as the delivery of life design coursework and workshops, as well as providing limited support for ongoing professional development opportunities for staff and faculty within Engineering, including the SPARK-Eng program.

**Duties**
- Creates, facilitates, and delivers engineering-tailored professional development presentations,in-class lectures, or workshops intended to develop interpersonal and communication skills, including leading teams, effectively collaborating with others, public speaking, and more.
- Works collaboratively within the EPE team, as well as other Faculty of Engineering units, on offering professional development for students, including training opportunities, the formal recognition of skill development, and EPE’s ongoing speaker series.
- Develops, designs and produces resources, material and tools to support professional development and lifelong learning (e.g., handouts, worksheets, forms, presentations, directories, etc.).
- Collaborates in planning and executing professional development events for students, either directly or in collaboration with other engineering units, cross-campus offices, student organizations, or professional organizations; advises on and/or directly manages logístical details (location, registration, catering, etc.).
- Promotes awareness of professional development opportunities and the vital role that lifelong learning and ongoing PD have for soon-to-be engineers, working with Faculty of Engineering and University partners on the creation and distribution of targeted content.
- Provides administrative and logístical support to additional PD programming delivered by the EPE unit, including life design coursework for undergraduate students, the management of PD spaces within Engineering, and the delivery of PD programming for staff, alumni and faculty.
- Monitors course, workshop, and program outcomes and feedback through evaluation and satisfaction surveys, ensuring it meets expectations and recommending improvements for future deliveries.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field is required.
