Reporting to the Underwriting Supervisor, the bilingual Intermediate Commercial Underwriter will be responsible for the day-to-day activities involved in underwriting property and casualty business within the Ontario and Quebec region with an identified portfolio of brokers through a combination of sound underwriting and customer relationship skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assess, investigate and refer as necessary commercial property and casualty renewals and new submissions using our philosophies and guidelines
- Quote and negotiate new and renewal business via selecting, assessing, and pricing risk with proven underwriting techniques
- Provide exceptional service to broker partners in the management of an existing renewal portfolio while ensuring quality underwriting standards are met.
- Order and review risk control inspections and follow-up on recommendations
- Review and analyze losses and make appropriate recommendations for loss prevention
- Collaborate with the Underwriting, Marketing/Business Development, and Management team in gathering and communicating competitive market intelligence
- Represent Wynward Insurance Group at broker visitations and various industry or trade functions to drive brand awareness.

**Job Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years of Property & Casualty Commercial Underwriting experience.
- Completion of or working towards CIP / CRM designations.
- Bilingual in French and English is a requirement with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, assessment, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good computer skills and familiarity with MS Office software.
- Well organized, self-starter with excellent time management skills.
