**Position Title**:
**Early Childhood Educator**

**Location**:Gibsons YMCA Child Care Centre (Gibsons, Sunshine Coast)
- 783 School Road Gibsons, BC V0N 1V9
- **Terms**:
Permanent, Part-Time: Up to 24 hours/week
- **Shift**:
Monday to Friday, shifts 8am-1pm and/or 1pm-5pm, flexible shifts available to accommodate and work with nearly any scheduling needs.
- **Rate**:

- $26.69 for ECE Basic License. $27.66 per hour for ECE SN License. ( **Includes **$4 per hour Provincial Government’s Wage Enhancement)
- $21.13 for ECE Assistant License

**Nature & Scope**:

We are seeking a caring and creative Early Childhood Educator to provide a safe and engaging experience for all children at the YMCA. Following the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, the educator plans and leads activities based on the interests and the developmental level of the children in our care.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Provide quality care and creative programming to children
- Build meaningful and positive relationships with children and families
- Work with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and families
- Deliver high quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum
- Provide active supervision at all times and work as a team to support transitions between play areas
- Use our parent communication app (Weemarkable) to provide daily communication and updates
- Keep a clean and safe environment - in all program areas and common spaces (with enhanced cleaning protocols for COVID-19)
- Follow all YMCA, Child Care Facility Licensing (CCFL) and legal requirements, including YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum standards

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- Basic ECEA/ECE certification from a program recognized in British Columbia
- Special Needs Educator (SNE) is an asset
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Any training related to child growth and development is an asset
- Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required (can be obtained with in 30 days after start date)
- 3 professional reference checks to be completed
- The YMCA has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy requiring all staff and volunteers to be fully vaccinated, as per the timeline set out by the province
