Early Childhood Educator

**Position Title**:Early Childhood Educator**Location**:Gibsons YMCA Child Care Centre (Gibsons, Sunshine Coast)
783 School Road Gibsons, BC V0N 1V9

**Terms**:Permanent, Full-Time

**Hours of Work**:35 - 40 hours per week

**Schedule**: Monday - Friday, shifts vary between 7:30AM - 6PM

**Rate**:

- $26.69 per hour for ECE License & $27.66 per hour for ECE IT and SN License. (**Includes **$4 per hour Provincial Government’s Wage Enhancement Initiative)
- $18.57 per hour for Responsible Adult
- $21.13 per hour for ECE Assistant License

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Provide quality care and creative programming to children
- Build meaningful and positive relationships with children and families
- Work with your team to create a supportive and safe environment for both staff and families
- Deliver high quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum
- Provide active supervision at all times and work as a team to support transitions between play areas
- Use our parent communication app (Weemarkable) to provide daily communication and updates
- Keep a clean and safe environment - in all program areas and common spaces (with enhanced cleaning protocols for COVID-19)
- Follow all YMCA, Child Care Facility Licensing (CCFL) and legal requirements, including YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum standards

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- Basic ECE/ECEA certification from a program recognized in British Columbia
- Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) License an asset
- Special Needs Educator (SNE) is an asset
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Any training related to child growth and development is an asset
- Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required (can be obtained within 30 days after start date)
- 3 professional reference checks to be completed
