As a member of the education team, the Education Facilitator will have the opportunity to facilitate education sessions across a variety of programs, with a focus on the Sam Education Field Trip program. The Sam Centre Education Field Trips offer programming for Grades Kindergarten to Grade 6 exploring themes of Community, Senses, Storytelling, History, Perspective and Connection. These educational explorations take place immersed in the interactive exhibits of Sam Centre in the heart of Stampede’s Campus. The position offers the opportunity to be part of a one-of-a-kind organization developing strong youth that will build stronger communities.
In addition to the Sam Education Field Trip program, the education programs include Stampede School, OH Ranch Education and Journey 2050. The Education Facilitator may have the opportunity to work across education programs, as needed.

**About the Sam Centre**
In 2024, the Calgary Stampede Foundation opened the Sam Centre, a year-round immersive experience that offers an intimate look at the rich history of the Stampede and its role in our community. Sam is anchored in the peoples, stories, and artifacts of the Calgary Stampede. It engages and excites guests in Calgary’s Stampede story through immersive, interactive, story-driven experiences that put our guests at the centre of the action.
**Scope of Position**
Reporting to the Manager, Youth Education Programs, the Education Facilitator is a member of the Calgary Stampede Youth Achievement Team. The Education Facilitator is responsible for the delivery of the program, making each experience interactive, relatable, and impactful.

**Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Facilitation
- Deliver interdisciplinary educational programming.
- Create an engaging and interactive learning environment, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful connections, preparing youth as spirited citizens.
- Developing and improving the methods and presentation styles to make content come to life and guide participant’s exploration.
- Engage all participants including students, teachers, and parent volunteers.
- Ensure safety and well-being of students, teachers, parent volunteers and presenters.
Leadership
- Nurture positive relationships with teachers, students, volunteers, and other key stakeholders in the community.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the educational programs helping to root the Stampede’s education programs as leaders in the community.
- Giving and receiving feedback from fellow facilitators to improve practices.
- Collaborating with members of the Education Team, Sam Team and with Foundation and Stampede departments.
