**Land acquisition Professional Position Job Description**

**Position Overview**

The Land Acquisition Specialist, Renewables will be primarily responsible for negotiating and acquiring agreements for site acquisition in the renewable energy project.

**Responsibilities**

The responsibilities and duties:

- Research and identify viable sites according to data provided by development team.
- Work with the development team, to source and secure Option/Lease Agreements with Landowners and other Stakeholders for renewable energy projects, including land acquisition, contract negotiations and land divestment.
- Stakeholder engagement
- Develop and maintain relationships with Landowners/Stakeholders, to acquire/lease and develop further opportunities that may arise.
- Provide site acquisition expertise and guide the team through the whole process.
- Negotiate various types of land-use agreements with landowners.
- Review and understand legal agreements, site plans and large-scale project layouts.
- Lead and assist communication with key stakeholders throughout the duration of the project.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree, ideally in geography, GIS, land acquisition/real estate, or related discipline,
- 5 years’ experience in land acquisition/lease for renewable energy projects (wind, solar, energy storage) in Alberta
- Experience and familiar with land matter process and procedure for renewable use in Alberta
- Professional experience with utility scale renewable energy project
- Ability to work independently with a high level of self-motivation.
- A committed team player with excellent communication skills
- Strong reporting and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and land related software
- Valid driver’s license

CNE is expanding development in Canada, in order to increase growing pipeline of projects in Alberta and other part of Canada.
