We currently have an exciting opportunity as**Category Manager - Resins and Additives.**

This role is based in our Oakville office and reports to the Director, Strategic Sourcing.

**Job Purpose**:
This position exists to build value for IPEX / Aliaxis through the enhanced management of our expenditure.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and Implement the regional spend category/sourcing strategies
- Carry out market analysis and identify key suppliers
- Ensure total cost reduction and manage risks
- Acquire a worldwide knowledge of suppliers' market of the category
- Generate value through better ordering, spend visibility, contracts, market insights, supplier driven innovation, demand management, collaboration with value-generating suppliers, internal/external collaboration
- Act as the company key contact with suppliers in negotiations and contracts setting with suppliers
- Identify the market levers and formulate an improvement strategy
- Work with internal partners to standardize and rationalize the category
- Implement savings initiatives and follow them up across the region
- Build the yearly budget for the category
- Act as a local conduit to and for the Regional Procurement team members

**Requirements**:
**Required Experience and Knowledge**
- Post-secondary education is a must.
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering or experience within the Plastics industry is an asset
- Experience in managing procurement in a complex, large, matrix organization
- Min 5 years experience in procurement/supply chain and/or operational management
- Resins and additives experience is preferred
- Willing to travel regionally/globally up to 33%
