The Lead Hand Operator is responsible for assisting in planning and scheduling of production and training of all Operators and Packers in a manner that will achieve the service and quality goals of Jones Packaging Services.

**Here are some of the different activities you’ll be asked to do**:

- Lead the proper number of Operators/Packers in the specified area.
- Ensure that production staff complete tasks in accordance to the work order.
- Assist in supervising all production activities scheduled for the workday in a manner that will achieve the service and quality goals.
- Assist with scheduling and directing all packaging activities ensuring the correct product, proper quantity, quality packaging in a cost effective manner.
- Assign alternate work to Operators/Packers when a machine break down occurs.
- Train Operators on equipment including policies and procedures for safety, GMPs, SOPs, and documentation.
- Provide input/feedback to leadership on the performance of Operators/Packers.
- Fill in for Assistant Supervisor in their absence.
- Operate machinery when required.
- Follow the safety policy and ensure that all colleagues work in a safe manner by following the approved safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with all applicable health and safety legislation.
- Perform any other related duties, or follow any other instructions as may be directed by the Leader.

**If you’ve got**:
**Education (diploma, degree, professional designation)**:
Minimum High School Diploma.

**Experience**:

- 3 to 5 years experience in a packaging/food/pharmaceutical environment. Highly competent in all primary pieces of equipment.
- Must be able to provide direction and feedback to staff
- Must be very knowledge of GMP’s/SOP’s
- Good communication skills (able to read and write English)
- Self-starter
- Work independently
- Time management
- Proven leadership skills
- Day and afternoon shift availability and willingness for overtime
