Youth HQ is currently looking for a dynamic, team-oriented individual to fill the Manager position for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Red Deer and District.

If you are a self-motivated proven leader with experience in the non-profit human services sector and are interested in leading and building a team of passionate and dedicated Big Brothers Big Sisters staff, you may have a place on the Youth HQ Leadership Team The Manager of the Big Brothers Big Sisters team provides leadership to and manages all aspects related to the delivery of the Big Brothers Big Sisters programing, including program/departmental planning, administration, budgets, human resources, marketing, and performance measurement. Youth HQ provides a competitive compensation and benefits package as follows:
**Salary Range**: $58,000 - $70,000 annually

**Benefits Package**: Health, dental, and insurance benefits along with an employer RRSP matching contribution are available after the probationary period.

Youth HQ Foundation Position Description

**POSITION TITLE**:
Manager - Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Red Deer and District

**CLASSIFICATION**:
1.0 FTE, Permanent

**REPORTS TO**:
Executive Director

**AUTHORITY**:
Financial Authority to $3000

**SUPERVISES**:
All Big Brothers Big Sisters Department team members

Provides leadership to and manages all aspects related to the delivery of the BBBS programing. This included items such as program/departmental planning, administration, budgets, human resources, marketing, and performance measures.

**KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**1. Leadership**:
a. As a member of the Youth HQ Leadership Team, provides information relevant to the overall decision-making processes of the agency.

b. Ensures all BBBS programming adheres to and supports the Youth HQ Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

c. Ensures all programming adheres to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada (BBBSC) National Standards.

d. Fosters departmental teamwork in alignment with Youth HQ culture.

**2. Program Planning and Management**:
a. Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programming in accordance with agency policy and BBBSC National Standards.

b. Ensures that BBBS staff and programs are adequately resourced and supported to ensure high quality service delivery.

c. Ensures all program evaluation is completed for all funders and stakeholders.

d. In collaboration with the Finance and Administration Manager, ensures all required fiscal reporting is completed for all funders and stakeholders.

e. In collaboration with the Policy and Procedure Committee, reviews/revises/develops Departmental Policies and Procedures.

**3. Human Resources Planning and Management**:
a. In collaboration with the Finance and Administration team, manages all Human Resource aspects of the BBBS Department:
i. In consultation with the Executive Director, determines the staffing requirements for the BBBS Department.

ii. Recruits team members best suited to the work of the BBBS Department and the culture of Youth HQ.

iii. Completes required onboarding processes and documentation, orientation, and training of all BBBS team members.

iv. Annually completes a formal performance evaluation for each BBBS team member.

v. In alignment with Youth HQ policy, effectively and efficiently addresses any personnel grievances and challenges or disciplinary requirements within the BBBS Department, discharging team members as required, and completes all offboarding processes and documentation.

**4. Financial Planning and Management**:
a. As part of the annual agency budgeting process, completes an annual BBBS Departmental Budget.

i. Identifies all BBBS related expenses to be incorporated into the overall agency budget.

ii. Assist the Community Engagement Team Manager in identifying potential revenue sources (grant submissions, corporate partnerships, and donor and stakeholder engagement).

**5. Community Engagement**:
a. Coordinates with the Community Engagement Manager to ensure BBBS programming and volunteer opportunities are well articulated to the public.

b. Ensures relevant community meetings and events are attended by themselves or the appropriate BBBS team member.

c. Remains informed about community partnerships and resources which may benefit BBBS and/or Youth HQ.

**6. Reporting Requirements**:
a. Identifies potential risks to Youth HQ’s people (clients, staff, and volunteers), property, finances, goodwill and public image, and business continuity, reporting them to the Executive Director, and making recommendations to mitigate or manage those risks.

b. Provides BBBS monthly program reporting to the Executive Director.

**7. Additional Responsibilities**:
a. Acts as the Chair of staff committees related to the work of BBBS or of Youth HQ in general as applicable.
