**A little about the role**:
Title: Night Reception and Interventions Officer
Hours: Part-time role (20 hours per week, two shifts) 23h-09h. Must be available nights, weekends & public holidays
**Salary**: 20$/h + bonuses and benefits (see details in below salary section)
**Work permit mandatory. We do not sponsor visas for this position.**

**For the Night Reception Officer part of the role your responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Reception duties such as greeting and checking in/out guests, answering phone, messaging and in-person enquiries, etc.
- Offering accurate information to guests by being an exceptional source of knowledge of hostel standards, policy & operation as well as Montréal tourist information.
- Ensuring the standard of cleanliness at reception and across common spaces.
- Performing administrative tasks such as maintenance of a digital filing system, filling out and processing incident reports, reception administrative tasks, reports and forms, and more.
- Maintaining the highest standard of communication, both verbally and written.
- Building strong relationships and liaise with guests, groups, bar patrons, managers, fellow team members, neighbours and business contacts to develop a strong sense of trust and acquaintance.
- Other duties relevant to the role and as assigned by management.
**For the Intervention Officer part of the role your responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Ensuring that all operating standards and security are upheld at all times by undertaking frequent walk-throughs of all floors and common spaces of the hostel, intervening to rectify problems.
- Helping ensure a harmonious environment in the bar and at reception by intervening in any situations that compromise safety and comfort of guests, staff and/or operations; as well as controlling noise caused by bar overflow and returning guest inflow into public spaces.
- Assisting in operating and monitoring the hostel’s CCTV system.
- Maintaining the highest standard of communication, both verbally and written
- Have the right to live and work in Canada (and is currently in the country)
- Be perfectly bilingual in both English and French
- Have at least one year’s experience in a similar role (experience as a surveillance or intervention agent in the hospitality industry is a huge asset)
- Be flexible, able and willing to work nights on weekdays, weekends and public holidays
- Be social, outgoing and empathetic, ready to provide our guests with an unforgettable experience

- The ability to multitask and handle a fast paced environment
- The ability to handle pressure with poise and finesse
- The ability to deal with security issues, firmly and quickly
- Refined conflict resolution, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, in English and French
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills and detail orientation
- Experience and competence in handling a high volume of transactions and accurately handling cash
- The motivation to take initiative
- Strong computer skills, ideally with MacOS and iOS
**Salary and benefits include**:
20$/hour (after a 3 months probation period - training is paid at 19$ hour)
additionally you receive a bonus of 500$ for each completed 3 months of employment
