AtkinsRéalis is dedicated to engineering a better future for our planet and its people.** **Your role within the Team** As a member of the HSE - Major Projects team, you will report to the Senior Manager Health, Safety and Security and be responsible for: - Implements the duties of the health and safety position they are appointed into which could include Onboarding & Training, Reporting, Incident Investigation, and coordinating Threat and Hazard Impact Risk Assessments (T/HIRA). - Works collaboratively with the contractor to confirm that the measures set out in the site-specific safety plan are effectively implemented. - Undertakes periodic assessments / audits and identifies opportunities for improvement and recommends corrective actions. - Provides management level reporting and identifies key risks and issues for escalation to the appropriate decision makers. - Coordinate with department heads to determine training needs - Map out annual training plans and schedules - Design and develop onboarding and training programs (outsourced and/or in-house) - Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, professional development classes) - Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions - Conduct training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed - Use known education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques - Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials - Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs - Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session - Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with experts regarding instructional design - Maintain updated curriculum database and training records to site and legislative requirements - Manage and maintain in-house training facilities, LMS systems and equipment - Research and recommend new training methods - Review health and safety data and trends to determine training gaps and corrective measures - Conduct training and onboarding with site personnel as required **Why choose AtkinsRéalis as an Employer?** Because we offer: - The opportunity to work on diverse and large-scale projects, both domestically and internationally. - A stimulating work environment where work-life balance is valued. - Access to a wide range of training opportunities focused on individual development and interests. - Competitive salary, flexible benefits, share ownership plan, and defined contribution pension plan. - A work environment that prioritizes health and safety. **Qualifications for the Position** - Typically, a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in on-site health and safety role (inspection, coordinator, onboarding and training, and / or reporting). - Experience in working within construction environments, major infrastructure / aviation program experience is considered an asset. - Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing effective health and safety management plans. - Strong stakeholder management skills and comfortable in working with the owner, consultants, and contractors. - Diploma/certificate in health and safety and / or equivalent training experience. **_ Are you up for the challenge?
