YMCA Child & Family Development has provided quality child care in the GTA for over 50 years, and is the largest not-for-profit provider of Licensed Child Care in Canada. With more than 294 locations, we offer a variety of programs for children 0-12 years of age: Early Learning and Care (Infant, Toddler, Preschool, and Nursery); Before and After School Care (Kindergarten and School Age); and Family Support programs.
The Markham Centurian YMCA Centre provides a centralized communication and registration approach for all child and family development programs across the GTA.
The Administrative Representative plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient administration of communication and registration and provides clerical assistance as required. The primary function of the position is to complete data entry activities using our membership database and fundraising/volunteer database.
In this role, you will:
- Support child care and school age registrations, complete data entry, amend and update member information for child care programs in CLASS in an accurate, professional and efficient manner.
- Complete clerical procedures as required such as processing payments, maintaining files, mailing and faxing.
- Perform customer service duties as required.
- Understands the legal responsibilities and moral imperative to report suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services.
- Understands the importance of the volunteer staff partnership and integrates the value of philanthropy and volunteerism in dealings with members, volunteers, donors and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
You bring:
- Completion of some Post-secondary courses in a related field
- Experience/knowledge of all programs within YMCA Child & Family Development
- Attentive to and accurate with details, able to manage conflict and dissatisfaction with intent to find resolution
- Must have mathematical ability necessary in relation to arranging payment plans and calculating past due accounts
- Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers
- Excellent written communication skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging
- Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficiency with CLASS is an asset
- Ability to multi task, identify issues and problem solve in a fast paced environment
- Experience working independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team
