Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor provides direction of facility maintenance, equipment reliability, and assists in developing and managing strategic and tactical maintenance efforts for the plant. The Supervisor provides leadership and management of the maintenance team and applies the Carmeuse guiding principles in the course of managing the maintenance team.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act are observed by employees. This includes planning the necessary resources in manpower and budgeting to accomplish site safety goals
- Interface with MOL and other governing health and safety agencies at local and federal level as required
- Follow up investigations working with Safety Committee, and others as needed or applicable
- Participate in the daily morning maintenance meeting
- Preparation and implementation of training plans to provide employees with the necessary training to perform their job safely and effectively
- Ensure the Management System is effective and well understood by all employees
- Actively participate in daily communications between maintenance and production
- A good understanding of the maintenance modules under the CMMS system (SAP 5.0)
- Ensures correct, accurate, and timely reporting of information on all maintenance Work Orders, including “Urgent Repairs”
- Ensure the execution of the daily maintenance plan
- Oversee necessary arrangements to keep plant running during breakdowns
- Routinely monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s), identifying opportunities for improvement and making appropriate supervisory and management personnel aware of the findings
- Provide feedback to the maintenance team on goals and expectations status
- Responsible for discretionary spending budget
- Leads the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
Job Qualifications:
- Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) with related Red Seal Certification is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of direct supervisory experience in construction, manufacturing and/or industrial settings related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc.
- Demonstrated competency in preventative and predictive maintenance, and computerized maintenance management systems
- Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills
- Demonstrable team work and maturity with a strong work ethic
- Fluency in spoken and written English

The Americas headquarters are located in Pittsburgh, PA and have over three dozen production facilities across the Eastern U.S., Canada, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia.
