**The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking a **Design Draftsperson
- Civil/Mechanical**to join our **Glencore** **Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.**

The position will be based in Onaping, Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

This is a full-time, unionized position.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

**Duties and Accountabilities**:
This role develops and performs the design, layout, specification, and bidding of engineered systems for processing plants. The incumbent is capable of leading and coordinating design, construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting of systems for processing plants.

**Education and Skills**
- Education: Graduation from a community college as a Civil/Mechanical Technologist, and/or acceptable equivalent education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of drafting or equivalent field experience related to system design, construction, and commissioning.
- Knowledge of construction standards, installations, and materials.
- Knowledge of design standards and industry practice in creation of drawings. Proficient in AutoCAD. Ability to
- theory to develop practical designs, meets schedule requirements for projects, and keeps abreast of technical engineering data.

To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have general knowledge and understanding of engineering mathematics and concepts; and a basic understanding of design, systems, and construction processes.

The individual must be organized and demonstrate an understanding of principles used to establish and maintain systems in a plant environment. In order to develop and maintain the required skills, initiative and commitment to education from internal and external sources is required. Excellent communication skills are required to ensure that the design intent is developed and communicated. This individual is generally self-directed and can manage and complete job assignments independently.
