The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) is a Crown corporation responsible for overseeing the Canadian federal interests in four international bridge crossings between Canada and the United States. Its mandate is to provide the highest level of stewardship so that the international bridges and associated structures are safe and efficient for users. FBCL owns, manages and operates international bridges and associated structures in Sault Ste. Marie, Point Edward, Lansdowne (Thousand Islands) and Cornwall, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources (People and Culture), the Human Resources Advisor is responsible for providing air, equitable, accountable and transparent human resource (HR) services. This includes providing program leadership, due diligence and business support in various areas of HR. The Human Resources Advisor works in collaboration with key stakeholders in support of FBCL’s strategies while living the values of the Corporation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accountable to perform day-to-day HR functions in support of the efficient operation of HR programs including but not limited to recruitment and onboarding, community partnerships, leave support, return to work, job descriptions, end of employment and employee recognition programs;
- Participate in the delivery of new employee orientation;
- Build effective working relationships with employees and people leaders, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR programs, policies, procedures and collective agreements;
- Foster positive labour relations;
- Assist in union management meetings, grievance response, preparing correspondence, investigations and disciplinary actions;
- Responsible for the administration, reporting and ongoing monitoring of occupational and non-occupational injuries, illnesses, accidents and leaves;
- Takes independent action to triage requests and determine the course of action; and,
- Assist in maintaining accuracy of the Human Resources Management System (HRMS)
- Works in a team environment, develops a supportive and productive working relationship with other staff; and
- Provides input to overall process enhancement and efficiencies.

Essential Qualifications
- Knowledge of Human Resources normally acquired through post-secondary education
- Minimum of 3 years’ related experience is required;
- Demonstrated ability to act as an advisor, influence outcomes and build relationships across the organization is required;
- Ability to understand and evaluate business requirements and adapt services to meet the needs of the corporation is required;
- Sound knowledge and broad understanding of employment laws and legislations, of Human Resources challenges and trends is required;
- Efficient problem solving and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required;
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) to act as a professional and inquisitive liaison is required;
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy is required;
- Proven ability to work within a team and with mínimal supervision is required;
- Proven ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality with access to sensitive information is required;
- Proficient skills and experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required;
- Ability to obtain and maintain reliability security clearance; and,
- Bilingualism is considered an asset.

This is a up to 12-18 month contract position.
