**OVERVIEW**

Hecla Yukon owns the majority of the historic high-grade Keno Hill Silver District located in Canada’s Yukon Territory. We’re developing two underground new deposits, the Bermingham mine and the Flame & Moth mine. This is a great opportunity to be part of the team that is operating one of the highest-grade silver operations in the world, and soon to be the largest primary silver producer in Canada.

We are looking for an individual to join our growing team. The **Accounting Supervisor **will report directly to the Site Controller and will be an integral member of the Site Accounting team responsible for the day-to-day accounting of mine operations and site related activities. In addition, you will be assisting in the oversight of the procurement of materials, goods and associated services for all operations, maintenance, and support functions.

**RESPONSIBILITES**:

- Preparation of monthly reports for submission to Hecla Corporate.
- Coordinates with internal and external audit engagement teams regarding implementation of remediation plans to address issues identified.
- Ensures accounting transactions comply with the company’s internal control requirements.
- Responsible for accuracy of general ledger account balances and company operating statistics.
- Produces cost reports and variance analysis of costs.
- Supervises a team of five, which includes Accounts Payable, Payroll, Intermediate Accountant, and Site Cost Accountant.
- Provides cash management of Keno Hill accounts to ensure fulfillment of operating cash needs.
- Monitors, reconciles, and forecasts cash activity in all bank accounts.
- Assists operating departments in developing detailed costs estimates and statistics for plans and forecasts in formats for loading to corporate information systems.
- Assume other responsibilities and administrative tasks as needed.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- A. in accounting or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the mining industry including five or more years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP and SOX Controls.
- Knowledge of Sage 300.
- Strong written and oral communications skills with superior attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines on multiple tasks and projects.
- Possess strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook); advanced Excel skills considered an asset.
- Resourceful, enthusiastic, and not afraid to bring new ideas to the table.
