(Casual Pt) Private School Driver

InnovOak School has an immediate need for one or more Casual Drivers. As our next InnovOak School Staff member, we are looking not just for someone to fill a role, but someone who wants to be a part of our growth within KW. **This role requires 3 years of prior documented commercial passenger experience driving a taxi, bus, dealership shuttle, or equivalent**

**Please note that commercial truck, amazon type delivery services, or Uber experiences do not meet the insurance requirements needed for this role. Your resume should show the relevant experiences and dates**

**General Role Requirements**
- Be responsible for the timely and safe transportation of students to and from their home or parents work location within Waterloo Region
- Maintain relevant documentation and ensures that the shuttle vehicle is in optimal operating condition, including interior and exterior cleanliness, gas monitoring etc.
- Be self-starters and strive to be a conscientious and courteous representative of school, providing personalized service to each family at pickup and drop off.
- Develop and maintain relationships with parents and students as the initial morning and final afternoon contact with the school each day.
- Ensure that all rules of the road are maintained, including but not limited to, distracted driving legislation and speed limitations.
- Be sensitive to student needs while transporting students
- Maintain a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory Driving Abstract.
- Be personable, friendly, and outgoing while maintaining high levels of professionalism at all times (not just when students are in the vehicle)
- Engage the general public as a brand ambassador when required as our vehicles are also used to promote and market our institution.
- Transport students irrespective of weather, traffic and road conditions in a safe, respectful and professional manner, whenever the school is open for students.

- Maintain frequent contact with transportation coordinator and or principal.
- Ensure an efficient route is established and followed, and that students are transported according to the indicated timelines.

- Excellent, polished, and clear verbal communication skills.
- Flexible and open to change; has initiative to take on special tasks as needed.
- Ability to manage customer complaints and to solve basic problems
- Be knowledgeable about the school, recruitment, admissions, and the daily happenings that would be of interest to parents and students.

**Hours of Work**
- Morning Pickup route leaves the school before 6:45 am
- Afternoon Drop Off route leaves the school at 3:15 pm.
- **This is an on call position as needed**:

- We will consider our Casual Drivers first when adding additional routes

**Other Requirements and Relevant Skills**
- Application and Resume should detail the experiences you have driving passengers in a commercial setting to be considered
