**Position Overview**

As a member of our school staff, you are more than a cleaner—you are part of a team that takes pride in preparing the space where students grow, teachers teach, and learning happens. This position may also support special school events and assist with setup and takedown as needed.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform general daily cleaning duties including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing floors.
- Clean and disinfect washrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and restocking of supplies.
- Disinfect high-touch areas such as light switches, handrails, door handles, and student desks.
- Remove and properly dispose of garbage, recycling, and compost.
- Wipe down furniture, clean windows and glass surfaces, and support seasonal deep cleaning tasks.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and inform the Operations Coordinator when restocking is required.
- Follow all established cleaning protocols and safety procedures, including WHMIS and OHS regulations.
- Report any facility maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the Operations Coordinator or Principal.
- Support school events by preparing spaces, assisting with furniture movement, and cleaning before and after events.
- Conduct spot cleaning and other maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Being a self starter and taking on additional proacitve cleaning tasks one daily tasks are completed

**What We Are Looking For**
- A dependable, responsible individual who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of maintaining a high-quality learning environment.
- Someone who likes to get things done to high standards, but is a self starter willing to tackle obvious cleaning tasks without having to be asked
- Someone who can create and follow an organized schedule
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working as part of a team and representing the school with a positive, professional attitude.
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, carry, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
- Strong understanding of safe cleaning practices, with prior experience using cleaning tools and supplies effectively.

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Previous experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance roles is preferred.
- This is a higher energy role that is
- WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety knowledge is an asset.
- Ability to follow schedules, instructions, and checklists effectively.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and personal responsibility in previous employment.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Ontario.
- Must provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) prior to start date.
- Three references will be required as part of the hiring process.
- Training and onboarding support will be provided by current staff.

**Additional Information**
- This is a part-time position primarily scheduled after regular school hours (typically starting after 3:30 PM).
- Protective equipment will be provided as needed
- Additional hours may be available for school events or deep cleaning days during breaks.
- This role plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and function of the school environment.

**Other Information**
- This role would require working during non-school hours to minimize disruption to students and staff.
- Personal protective equipment will be provided when required for specific cleaning activities.
- Role requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.
- Must provide a VSC and provide 3 suitable references to be hired.
- Dependent on hire date, our current staff will assist in training
