To carry out its projects, VIA Rail is looking for a Project Control Officer (PCO) to join its Project Management Office (PMO).
As such, he/she will have a leading role in in project management as well as an advisory role to project managers regarding the use of standards, methodologies, models and tools.
More specifically, the role will be structured around five pillars: cost control, scheduling activities and deadlines, monitoring the scope, quality and risks of the project.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate in the progress of projects and the updating of various project management tools by rigorously monitoring resource capacity, budget, schedule, scope, risks and issues, and identifying gaps;
- Work closely with the various project, portfolio and/or major program managers to monitor expenses and optimize budget forecasts for each project;
- Update and maintain projects schedule according to the contract requirements, analyze critical paths, gaps and trends, and ensure achievement of contractual objectives;
- Participate in the development of financial analyzes of initiatives, opportunities and business cases as well as profitability studies and cost/benefit analyses, and monitor project performance metrics and indicators;
- Deploy and implement procedures, templates and performance indicators to provide a project management framework supporting the PMO Center Of Excellence.
Requirements:

- Knowledge of cost tracking and project planning;
- Good knowledge of project management methodologies (such as PMBOK), project management tools (MS Project, Oracle, EPM, etc.) and report generators (Excel, Power BI, etc.);
- Organization, rigor, attention to detail and structure;
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team;
- Communicate skillfully (listening, tact);
- Ability to prevent and resolve problems;
- Bachelor or DEC, with relevant experience in engineering, administration or management with at least three (3) years or relevant experience;
- A PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification considered an asset.
