**Position: Summer Student
- Groundskeeper**

**Term: April 28, 2025- up to 16 weeks**

**Compensation: $20.71 per hour**

We are currently seeking an Summer Student
- Groundskeeper for our office located in Kenora, Ontario. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful applicant will be assisting with all day-to-day maintenance activities.

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

- Maintain building grounds by mowing, edging, raking leaves, and performing other lawn maintenance functions
- Wash, clean, and re-fuel all equipment after use
- Maintain flower beds, baskets, and boxes by watering, removing weeds, trimming, and performing other maintenance
- Pick up debris, sweep parking lots and walkways.
- Sweep and mop building common spaces.
- Operate riding lawn mower, weed wacker, leaf blower and other small engine equipment as necessary.
- Wipe down interior walls, elevators, wash windows and other general cleaning duties. Sweep parking lots and re-paint lines where requested.
- Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment
- May assist Internal Maintenance staff with tasks related to unit repair such as removing debris, cleaning, grass cutting, etc.
- Adhere to all OAHS policies and programs as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of and an appreciation of Indigenous culture and a values system that believes in holistic wellness and in assisting people to become and stay safely housed;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a highly motivated, professional, and results-oriented team;
- Support OAHS’s mission and vision
- Work experience in the area of maintenance would be considered an asset
- Customer Service experience
- Is between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Was registered as a full-time student in the current academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
- Is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; and;
- Is legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
