The City of Kenora is looking for students for summer employment This is your chance to be part of a dynamic and innovative team of professionals who work hard to ensure the best possible experience for all of our residents and visitors. We take a lot of pride in what we do, and we want you to join us in working together to make our great public services even better.
This is a position will be the first point of customer contact at the City Hall building and will be responsible for greeting customers and visitors in a friendly, professional manner and directing the visitor to the appropriate person if required. Delivers a wide range of information on municipal services that are customer-focused and cost-efficient. The City Hall student will provide clerical assistance and participate in records management and filing of correspondence under the guidance of the Clerk.
**Qualifications**:
- Must be a full-time student in the 2024-25 school year at a secondary or post-secondary education institution and be returning to school full-time for the 2025-26 school season
- Must be available to attend and complete mandatory safety training and orientation on May 24, 2025
Cash handling and report writing experience required
- Possess good communication skills with ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with the public with tact and diplomacy
- Valid standard First Aid or AED training would be an asset
**Hours**: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
**Rate**: $19.33/hr
