**What we are looking for**:
We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team for a 6 - 9 months in a newly created role, which could lead to the possibility of evolving into a permanent position. We are a collaborative and cross-functional team, working Monday to Friday from 830am to 5pm (37.5 h/week) in a hybrid environment which includes working out of our Richmond office a minimum of 3 days/week.

**Your key accountabilities will include**:

- Accounts Payable/Receivable duties such as: _
- Monitoring and reporting on rent collection, providing key stakeholders with updates.
- Managing the accounting inbox to ensure vendor invoices are uploaded to Yardi and inquiries are addressed on a timely basis.
- Entering all pertinent invoice details on the invoice register, and attaching supporting documentation as needed.
- Performing monthly credit card reconciliations for all card users, ensure the monthly balance is recorded in Yardi in a timely manner.
- Performing monthly bank reconciliations and following-up on outstanding transactions to ensure bank reconciliations are posted in a timely manner.
- Posting chargebacks to tenant ledgers, generating invoices from Yardi, and distributing tenant invoice packages to tenants.
- Additional accounting duties such as: _
- Preparing the monthly GST/PST/parking reconciliations and filings.
- Preparing the monthly reports and providing comments on all changes prior to sending them for review.
- Recording all monthly debt payments and reconciling monthly balances to amortization schedules.
- Maintaining and reconciling the capital expenditure, tenant inducement, landlord work property tax and insurance amortization schedules.
- Preparing tenant rental notices, uploading to Yardi Voyager and ensuring they are sent to tenants prior to commencement of the operating year.
- Assisting in the preparation of the operating cost reconciliation packages sent to tenants.
- Supporting team members with any additional accounting support as required.
- 1-3 years’ experience as an accounting specialist, ideally with experience in the Real Estate sector.
- Proficiency in using Accounting Software & MS Office, and experience using Yardi Voyager an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and someone who prides themselves in a job well done.
- A good communicator that is a great team player, and comfortable interacting with external stakeholders (such as vendors) as required.
