Fresenius Medical Care Canada is currently recruiting for a temporary, full-time Accounting Assistant (Accounts Receivable) on a 6-month contract, working out of our head office in Richmond Hill, Ontario. The position entails the following:
PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Supports FMCC’s mission, vision, core values and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the FMCC Compliance Program, including following all regulatory and division/company policy requirements.

DUTIES / ACTIVITIES:
CUSTOMER SERVICE:

- Responsible for driving the FMCC culture through values and customer service standards.
- Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.
- Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

- Preparing account statements
- Maintaining accounts receivable files and records
- Performing AR collection
- Investigating and resolving any enquiries related to outstanding invoices
- Collaborating with external and internal parties to review price variances
- Posting daily customer cash receipts
- Generating AR reports
- Maintaining customer and patients records in ERP system
- Assisting in general financial management and analysis
- Performing account reconciliations
- Assisting in month end activities
- Other duties as assigned

DURATION:

- 6 months contract

EDUCATION:

- A high school education or general equivalency is required
- Accounting courses at a college/university level and/or diploma or degree is highly preferred

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

- A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience
- General ledger experience required
- Detail oriented and organized
- Good problem-solving skills
- Self motivated with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be punctual and dependable with a string work ethic
- Bilingual English/French preferrable
