**COOK/DIETARY DEPARTMENT JOB POSTING**
Country Estates Retirement Home is looking for an enthusiastic team member. Under the direction of the Retirement Home Management, the Dietary Aide is responsible for the preparation and production of all meals as listed on the weekly menu, dining room service and additional duties as assigned.
- Experience in the dietary and/or culinary environment preferred
- Knowledge of Canada’s Food Guide, basic nutritional requirements and infection control
- Food Handlers Program through Public Health of Ontario certificate
- Competency in written and spoken English
- Good interpersonal, communication and organizational ability
- Current CPR (Level C - HCP) and First Aid - preferred
- Police vulnerable screen
- Have a caring and compassionate attitude towards, clients, families and employees
- The ability to work effectively alone and in a team environment
- Ability to perform various cleaning duties
**_The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: _**
- Assists in the menu planning and recipe development
- Responsible for cleaning maintenance and safety of all kitchen equipment such as stove, deep fryer, etc.
- Assists with completing the monthly inventory
- Responsible for the presenting an appetizing and appealing meal to the resident and ensuring that the appropriate temperature of the foods is maintained (hot meals are hot and cold are cold).
- Demonstrate sanitary, safety and infection control procedures
- Maintaining a clean and organized dining room
- Additional cleaning duties as assigned.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-30 per week
**Salary**: $16.18 per hour
