Absolute Energy Services Ltd. is an Edmonton based energy services company, specializing in third party facility representation and locate management. We are currently seeking experienced Utility Line Locators for Edmonton and surrounding areas. Work is on a seasonal basis.

**Position Summary**

The Utility Line Locator will be responsible for assisting the company's locate management department on a daily basis. Main areas of work include completing field locates for various projects, completing accompanying field drawings and any other required paperwork to send to clients, correspondence with clients and general public, travelling to varying job locations, and personal documentation of work completed.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Complete field locates with varying degrees of complexity.
- Engage in physically demanding tasks such as walking for extended periods, fitting in tight locations, and carrying equipment ( up to 20lbs).
- Navigate multiple drawing programs such as Bluebeam and TurboCAD.
- Read and interpret drawings, locates, mapping, construction prints, etc.
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely manner.
- Participate in site safety, including but not limited to pre-job orientations, daily toolbox meetings, locator checklists, field-level hazard assessments (FLHAs) and monthly safety meetings.
- Complete accompanying paperwork daily to submit to clients.

**Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge**
- Proficient at building and maintaining rapport and positive working relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Critical eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
- High level of accuracy and efficiency with locating objectives and accompanying paperwork.
- Experience in working with the public.
- Self-motivated with high attention to detail.
- Strong emphasis on workmanship.
- Good judgement and problem-solving capacity.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.
- Strong time management skill, with emphasis on showing up to a job site prepared, on time, and ready to complete objectives.

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Minimum locating experience of 2 years.
- Industry certification (H2S Alive, WHMIS, Ground Disturbance Level II, Standard First Aid, Utility Locating Certification) is an asset.
- Personal truck or SUV in good working condition.
- Willingness to work long hours and potentially weekends.
- Travel to various locations as required.
- Work with mínimal supervision and direction.
- Complete pre-employment background checks to the satisfaction of the company.
