Our students are among 600 of the brightest and most talented young artist scholars, who come to study in one of the many undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the Faculty. The students, faculty and staff within the Faculty of Music are committed to excellence in creative and scholarly work. **Responsibilities**: The Technical Assistant working with the Technology Coordinator will be responsible for a range of support activities which can include: support for multi-media productions, doing medium to high level sound and video recordings, librarian for approximately three hundred recordings per academic year and making same available to Faculty and Students. This can include both CD/DVD media, editing, and uploading to cloud based storage and delivery. In addition, some technical installations and repair work may be included on both PC and Apple products. **Qualifications**: **Education**: Post-Secondary Education in the field of Sound Recording. Knowledge of desktop audio production software, multi-media software, and associated hardware. **Experience**: **Skills, Abilities & Expertise**: - Ability to work as part of a team, and independently. - Ability to provide a positive attitude, interacts in a professional manner, and provides a high level of genuine customer service to students, staff and Faculty members. - Must be detail oriented, and work well under some time pressures and deadlines. - Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University’s events and activities. - Ability to prioritize and organize - Experience with audio and video software, sound re-enforcement systems and equipment, microphone technique, mixing desks, and basic a/v equipment. - Some moving of heavier equipment and speakers may be required - Software skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Windows. - Good working knowledge in Mac OS X. **Western Values Diversity**: **Please Note**: We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those chosen for an interview will be acknowledged.
