**Job Purpose**:
Joining the Viking-Cives family you will have pride working within our fast-paced custom fabrication shop.
Assist in various functions of our operations while following all safety, environmental, and quality practices.
Reporting to the department Supervisor/Plant Superintendent. **This position is hiring for Afternoon Shift.** **N.B. Applicants must have the right to work in Canada. Viking Cives is not able to offer sponsorship at this time.**

**Job Duties**:
Operate in a safe manner forklift equipment to deliver or store various parts.
Produce quality product while focusing on given standards.
Opportunity to learn various pieces of equipment or processes in a backup situation.
Ability to operate hand power tools safely.
Ability to perform equipment inspections/checklists when required.
**Handle heavy materials manually** and with overhead cranes in a safe and efficient manner
Adhere to all safety practices and report any unsafe conditions, broken or malfunctioning equipment.
Must be able to lift upwards of **50lbs**
Capable of using shop measuring tools (ie. tape measure) and cutting equipment (ie. saw) to cut stock.
Maintains cleanliness of the work area and ensures proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent loss.
Conforms to departmental safety requirements.
Willing to work overtime when required.
Willing to cross train as required.

**Education/Experience**:
High School Diploma or its equivalent, 1+ years’ experience preferred.
