The Food Bank of York Region is a food distribution hub that collects, warehouses and delivers fresh, frozen and dry products to almost 80 community partners. We are not open to the public. We only serve community food pantry’s, social service agencies and housing coops in York Region. Since 2012, our program has been growing at a rate of 40% per year.
- Managing, planning and scheduling the collection and delivery of food and other supplies to and from community partners. Drive DZ trucks when shifts are not taken or in emergency situations.
- Monitoring driver routes to ensure the efficient movement of products.
- Managing, hiring and training drivers and warehouse staff.
- Weighing, documenting and warehousing incoming donations.
- Supervising and training others to weigh, document and warehouse incoming donations.
- Accurately document inventory at the end of our fiscal year
- Offering surplus products to our local and provincial network when necessary.
- Scheduling the delivery and pickup of donation boxes at various locations throughout York Region
- Tracking all incoming and outgoing products
- Maintaining records of ministry inspections.
- Maintaining warehouse equipment. Checking water level on batteries and ensuring the safe operation of forklifts, walkies and other equipment.
- Supervising and training any warehouse staff members
- Tracking the status of goods in real-time to ensure collections and deliveries are being fulfilled.
- Ensure annual truck inspections, repairs and maintenance are completed.
- Delivering solutions to any logistics problems while maintaining a high quality of service.
- Maintaining strong relationships with retail and other food donors.
- Maintaining a clean warehouse and work environment
- Maintenance and repair of building components when necessary
- Place orders for warehouse products and equipment.
- Regular meetings with CEO or operations staff.
- Other duties as required to ensure all logístical and warehouse matters safely and efficiently resolved.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $65,000.00 per year
