**Machine Operator Job Description**

Our Machine Operators are critical to ensuring safety, quality, and continuous improvement within Poly-Nova Technologies.

We are currently looking for a full-time (Monday
- Friday) Machine Operator on Day shift (6:50AM to 3:00PM) to run our Silane Treatment Procedure and operate our machines.

The Silane Treatment operator works with methanol. The operator must wear all required PPE including mask, respirator, gloves, apron while performing certain tasks.

**Duties Include**:

- Follow all standard operating procedures and environmental health and safety policies & procedures.
- Wear all the required PPE and ensure the PPE is maintained as per procedures.
- Always follow the proper schedule for the silane treatment and advise supervisor/lead hand of any abnormal amounts of scrap or new/unusual defects.
- Mix chemicals using proper procedure and guidelines always adhering to safety standards.
- Ensure waste methanol is transported and stored safely.
- Dip parts into a solution and package the finished parts for per required quantity, labelled and prepared for production.
- Inspect parts within the next cycle time as per the quality inspection instructions and alerts.
- Complete all required shift paperwork.
- Notify supervisor or lead hand of any issues or health and safety concerns.
- Maintain traceability & identification of parts (confirming correct labels are placed on boxes)
- General housekeeping of the workstation.
- Relay issues during shift overlap.
- Cross trained in other operations.

**Qualifications/ Requirements/ Competencies**
- Grade 12 diploma
- Chemical manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Safety conscious and adhere to all standard operating procedures and EH&S policies.
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, policies, memos, and quality alerts.
- Strong attention to detail
- Good verbal and written communication skills

**Other Specifications**
- General mathematic and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to wear all required PPE including mask, respirator, gloves.
- Ability to lift 15-35 lbs; full case of product and insert trays.
- Ability to stand for long periods, with opportunity to sit during inspection.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
