**SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for the successful execution of production for their area at Trimet Building Products (Trimet). The Operator is required to ensure the production schedule is executed successfully through the operation of machines they are trained on, ensuring proper quantities and a high standard of quality. The Operator should strive to be a leader or expert in their task at hand and encourage and empower teammates to follow procedure and meet schedule.

The Operator must also be committed to learning, gaining skill, performing quality work in a way that supports and aligns with our Trimet Mission, Vision and Values. As a member of our operations department you will be required to help us meet our daily production targets. This is an entry level position whose main duties will be to help where as assigned by the production manager. On the job training will be provided to help get you up to speed and to meet our requirements.

Key accountabilities
- Under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and support of the Area Lead, execute the operation of equipment based on the established schedule.
- If material/work order in not available to perform the next job look up or down stream of the operation to assist in moving the operation forward.
- Assist the Area Lead in preparing for the next order if Area Lead is not available.
- Ensure the material and information received is correct prior to work. If not, pass the work to the previous step and take the next job.

Communicate any inventory issues or potential issues with the Area Lead.
- Ensure the step prior was performed correctly, if not push the job back to the person who performed the step.

Ensure each job is performed properly and in the proper quantities. Product should reflect the information on the work order.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**


High School Education.

Can physically perform job duties over the course of a shift.

Able to be trained on the equipment they are required to operate.

Takes accountability for personal and team results.

Builds relationships and communicates effectively.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

1. Able to lift 50 lbs.

2. Able to stand and work on the shop floor for an entire shift.

3. Shop Environment

**EQUIPMENT/MACHINERY USED**

PC Computer, CNC Machinery

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**

1. Sitting and standing for 8 hours.

**Experience** - Previous experience manufacturing will be an advantage.

**Employment Status**: Monday to Friday, full-time
